Palma Residence Castro Pretorio

The location was the only good thing, close to the bus and Metro B. The service was rude and unhelpful, and the room was cold when we got it. There was dust on almost everything, and basic amenities were missing. The bed was very small, with old mattresses and worn-out pillows. Towels were thin and so old they seemed about to tear after repeated use. I’d pay 10 euro extra for somewhere better.

It’s a very clean place with polite staff, and the room was spacious enough, though the bathroom was a little small. We had trouble getting the keys to open the doors, so that could be improved. The room had a small fridge but no iron. Palma Residence was a great and very affordable stay, just a three-minute walk from Roma Termini Station with everything close at hand. We enjoyed it.

The airport transfer arranged by a hotel employee was much better than taking a taxi or train. The driver arrived on time, the vehicle was nice, and he was engaging despite speaking only a little English. The reception employee was great, spoke English well, and was very helpful. The location was perfect for us, close to the train and good places to eat, with easy walking and transit options. The cozy room was clean and had what we needed for one night, and the bathroom was updated and clean too. It’s a good-value hotel with the basics covered, perfect for a day or two. A longer stay might not be as good.

Being close to Roma Termini was the one thing this place had going for it. We asked for a decent room in a particular building when we checked in early, but after sightseeing we were put in a poor room in a different building. It was cold, and the blanket we took from the cupboard had someone else's hair on it. The bathroom was so cramped there was barely room between the sink and toilet. One of the two door locks worked, and getting the door locked or unlocked took ages. We reported it, but nothing changed. We were there for one night, and they refused to move us. Disappointed in every way except the location.
