Elisabetta was warm and helpful when we asked for advice about Rome, and the room and bathroom were very clean. Still, the setup felt more like being inside someone’s home than at a B&B, with just a few rooms off a tiny shared hallway and kitchen space. There wasn’t much privacy. At breakfast, the host stayed with us the whole time, which made us feel watched instead of relaxed. We were also asked to keep our voices down if other guests were still sleeping. The breakfast itself was more limited than we expected: mostly toast, packaged cakes and sweets, coffee, and sometimes an egg. Guests can’t use the kitchen or prepare anything themselves. Noise was the biggest problem for us. We could hear people very clearly through the walls, and guests in the next room woke us several times at night. The mattresses were very hard, and the bathroom could use practical things like hooks and electrical outlets. Casa Eli Roma is in a quieter area farther from central Rome than we expected. It took quite a walk to reach public transport, followed by more travel into the center. The personal, social hosting style may suit some travelers, but we found the lack of privacy and comfort limiting.

Eli made us feel cared for throughout our stay. She was cheerful, helpful, and knowledgeable, with great advice and help arranging restaurant reservations. The homemade cake she baked was part of a delicious breakfast each morning, and a lovely way to start the day. We also liked being in a peaceful neighborhood away from the city center’s noise and crowds. Getting around was still easy: Eli showed us a simple tram route that took us almost directly to the Colosseum. From the minute we arrived, B&B Casa Eli felt warm and welcoming, and we had a few unforgettable days there. We’d recommend Casa Eli to families looking for a cozy place to stay in Rome.

Getting around Rome was easy, with public transport only a five-minute walk away. There’s also a gelateria on the building’s ground floor where we had some of the best gelato of our lives, plus plenty of good restaurants nearby for dinner. Eli was warm, attentive, and always available to answer questions or share information about the area. The accommodation was spotless, from the linens to the bathrooms, and we felt very comfortable and welcome. Breakfast was fresh, tasty, and varied, so we started each day with plenty of energy. It was an extraordinary stay, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable place in a convenient location.

My first trip to Rome with my children will stay with me as a lovely memory, thanks to Elisabeth. She gave us thoughtful advice and guidance that helped make our stay wonderful. The hotel is close to the bus and tram stop for Plazza Venezzia, where you can set off on pleasant walks to see the monuments and other sights. I wasn’t sure at first about staying outside the center, but the local facilities are really good and getting into the center was easy. Elisabetta was charming and incredibly helpful with transport, logistics, and restaurant suggestions. Case Eli made our Rome stay feel effortless, and I can’t recommend it highly enough.
