Gessi Halldis Apartment on Via Flavia in Rome was grimy and neglected, and the street and surrounding area felt just as run-down and charmless. The entrance looked like that of an abandoned public housing block. The apartment was nowhere near the condition shown in the photos: stained walls and pillows, damaged tables, dirty sheets, and curtains covered in what seemed like decades of dust. The price was absurd for what you get, perhaps twice its real value at best. When I raised a completely reasonable complaint, the owners responded aggressively and even made serious threats. That made an already miserable stay even worse. Three one-star reviews seem entirely deserved. I wouldn't recommend it at all.

The place on Via della Mercede was filthy, cold, and disgusting. It felt more like a hovel than an apartment. A truly awful stay.
