Piazza Di Spagna Prestige Hotel

This was our second stay, and we still love the place. It’s in a central spot, about five minutes from the Spanish Steps, Piazza di Spagna, the metro, and lots of good restaurants. Step outside and the street has that classic Italian feel. The rooms are clean and pretty spacious by European standards, and the A/C worked fine. Just know there are no English TV channels. If you get there before check-in, you’ll need WhatsApp to text the number on the door and get the entry instructions. Nobody is at the desk until 10:30am or later, and they leave in the mid to late afternoon. They did let us leave our bags in the lobby for a few hours, which gave us time to go explore.

EDIT: The manager says they brought in professionals to remove the bed bug infestation. We still haven’t received any compensation for what happened. My wife and I didn’t even stay one night in the Navona room. I woke at 3am with my arms burning and covered in bites. We found three bugs right away, another on the floor, three on my backpack, then watched two more crawl across the pillows after we jumped out of bed. That was nine in a short time, and we hadn’t even had to look hard. The headboard also didn’t match the online photos. It was felt-backed and attached to the wall, and I have no doubt it was covered in bugs. Hotels.com/Expedia helped us find somewhere else to stay in Rome, but the hotel itself wasn’t much help. The manager said housekeeping hadn’t found bugs and suggested they sometimes hitch a ride on luggage. The room was clearly infested to us, and we worried the other rooms would be next, if they weren’t already. They didn’t seem to take it seriously. They offered only to refund the $50 city tax from our $1,150 stay, and days after we left, that still hadn’t happened. It’s a hazard to guests and the surrounding area. The location is great, though.

Great value and a wonderful location for a short stay with my daughter. The place was cute and comfortable, check-in was easy, and it stayed cool even in Rome’s heat. It’s right by the Spanish Steps, with loads of places to eat, shop, and get a drink nearby.

We were directed to check in online over WhatsApp, then sent to an address two blocks away from the one advertised. The room smelled like trash and felt like a dark dungeon. When we pointed out that it didn’t match the photos or address, they told us, “that’s what you booked.” They knew it was false advertising and said there’d be no refund. Thankfully our booking company refunded us. I reported them to the credit card companies as fraud and filed a police report. They own several buildings and advertise them under one address with fake photos. Do not stay here.
