Re Monti Guesthouse

The staff were a 10, and the walk from Roma Termini was about 12-15 minutes. The room, though, was a 2 and didn’t quite match the online pictures. I didn’t try breakfast, but when I went to get coffee, another guest had already found the machine wasn’t working. The bed I shared with my daughter was a decent size, but the sheets were scratchy. Street noise came through even with the windows and drapes shut. The air conditioner clanged loudly off and on all night, and a bright light flashed above us after we turned out the lights. It turned out to be the carbon monoxide detector. I covered it with a sweater so we could sleep, then worried I might not wake up if there were carbon monoxide, despite a quick Google search suggesting we were probably fine. It didn’t flash with the lights on. We arrived around 10 pm, and the owner or manager had sent clear instructions for getting into the room, which I appreciated. The toilet instructions said to press hard twice and keep pressing. It took me several tries, and my son also struggled, while my daughter couldn’t get it to flush at all, so I had to do it for her.

The room was small, but clean and perfectly adequate. Breakfast did the job, with pastries, toast and eggs, and there were good restaurants nearby. The staff were friendly and helpful. We walked to most of the historical sights from this very convenient location, and had a very pleasant stay.

Breakfast had good options, and the place was clean. A very good place to stay, I’d recommend it.

The room was spacious, with a lovely view of Via Cavour, and the location was great, close to Termini train station. Breakfast was very good and the staff were amazing. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.
