Relais Il Casale

A peaceful place near both downtown Rome and the beach. Our room was clean, the receptionist was so nice, and breakfast was the best we had in Rome. We had a beautiful stay and will definitely return to Casale Settimio.

Our room was very spacious and furnished with taste. Everything was spotless, breakfast was plentiful, and the area was quite peaceful. We stayed for three nights while passing through Rome, and the young woman who welcomed us was very friendly and explained everything. Highly recommended! 😊👍🏻

Being surrounded by greenery is definitely the strongest point, and I can imagine that makes a real difference in summer. I have mixed feelings about the staff. Some days they were friendly, other days they seemed grumpy, like they were angry at the world. Once, for example, they said I was speeding in my car when I was actually going at walking pace. Aside from that, everything else was pretty average.

This place is a little removed from the city center, so I’d recommend it if you’re after somewhere secluded, quiet, and peaceful. Getting to restaurants is inconvenient, though. There’s a bus stop nearby, but during my stay the buses were being rerouted because of waterworks, which made getting around harder. Hopefully that’s sorted once service resumes. The breakfast is European-style, with food replenished right away, so you can have a hearty meal. When you open the door, you step straight into the bedroom, which feels a bit unusual. There is a heater or radiator, but I suspect it could be cold in winter.
