B&B Mazzini

We had a lovely stay. The building smelled amazing, and our room was big, bright, clean, and beautiful. Miss Lisa was kind and personable, made sure we had breakfast every morning, and made the best cappuccino. Communication with management was simple.

There are five separate bedrooms in this cozy apartment, each with its own bathroom. The shared main area doubles as a kitchen, though there's no sink or tap. Free coffee, tea, crackers, and cookies are always available, but that's also all that's included as breakfast. The kitchen seems to get cleaned and restocked with coffee, toast, crackers, and cookies. The location is quiet, with plenty of buses nearby and the metro a five minute walk away. A complimentary prosecco at the bar downstairs was a nice gesture and a good chance to relax near the property. Cleaning really needs improvement. There are humidity stains in several places in the bathrooms, some appliances don't work, and there were old stained mattresses in the bedroom wardrobe. There's also a note asking guests not to use the heating or air conditioning because electricity costs are high. No comments. Breakfast could be better, with vegetables, fruit, cheese, and cold cuts. When booking, I selected to pay at the property, but no one was there to welcome us or take payment. Check-in is handled remotely by text messages. They asked me to share my credit card details again, even though I'd already provided them through Booking, which didn't inspire much confidence.

Breakfast arrived right at our room, and it was delicious. We also loved the beautiful room and the gorgeous courtyard fountain. The place was spotless, communication was excellent, and the location made it easy to reach Rome’s monuments, with Vatican City next door. If we return to Rome, we’ll stay here again. Everything is handled online, so there’s no personal service. The place itself was clean and okay, though a little worn. The rooms had some basic problems: one shower had warm water but no light, while another room’s bathtub had no warm water. Some curtains were missing, toilet seats needed replacing, and several bulbs were out.
