Romantic House in Trastevere

The Wi-Fi was unreliable and couldn’t even support basic use of the apartment’s smart TV. We paid almost €800, which doesn’t make sense for the conditions we found. The apartment wasn’t properly equipped for more than two people. Its sofa bed was unstable and uncomfortable, with something like a duvet instead of a proper mattress, so there was little support. The wooden frame showed through, making a decent night’s sleep impossible. When we told the owner, the proposed fix wasn’t enough and no suitable mattress was provided. Booking.com has told us the owner isn’t responding to our refund request.

We paid €800 and ended up sleeping on the floor, literally. There was one decent bedroom, but the sofa bed for the other couple didn’t even have a mattress, just a blanket over the frame of what was supposed to be a bed. We filed a complaint and they’re ignoring us. Don’t book with them. Scammers!

We were four people, two couples, staying for four days, and paid almost €800. The listing promised a sofa bed for the second couple, but there was no proper mattress. The so-called mattress was only two fingers thick and sank to one finger when someone lay on it. It was impossible to sleep on, so we ended up on the floor. On the first night we asked them to find a solution, and they told us to find somewhere else and leave. Ridiculous and unacceptable. We complained to Booking.com, but they said they couldn’t get a response. If you book and run into a problem, it may just disappear. There are plenty of better, cheaper places across Rome.

The place is advertised for four, but the mattress is the one shown in the photo. Take a look and judge for yourself. Paying 800 euros for that is unacceptable. When we complained, the property manager ignored us, and so did Booking.com. I can’t recommend it.
