Mario made the service hard to beat. Communication with him was clear from the time we booked, and when he couldn’t be there for check-in, his father helped us instead. They were both so nice. Mario understood that we had an early flight and arranged an earlier check-in so we could rest and freshen up. He also gave us plenty of tips for food and places to visit, including places to avoid at night for safety. Room91 is in an unbeatable spot, one minute from Ottaviano metro station on Line A and about a 10-minute walk to Vatican City. There are lots of restaurants and supermarkets nearby, but the area avoids the usual tourist noise. The room was clean, comfortable, and roomy enough for our open luggage. We liked having a fridge for bottled water, and the air conditioning was a blessing in the Roman heat. The toilet was clean, the shower pressure was strong, and three locked doors made us feel secure. I’m writing this from my bed here, glad we booked. We’d love to stay again if we return to Rome.

Marco, the host, was the best part of our stay. He took lots of time to share great tips, especially for restaurants, and was very friendly and helpful. That personal touch is a real benefit of a smaller boutique hotel. We had no complaints about our room, and thought it was perfect and great value. Breakfast comes with a voucher for a nearby café, where you can choose from several options. Room 91 is in Prati, close to the Vatican and in a nice pedestrianised area. The Metro stop is a two-minute walk away, which is handy since the Metro is excellent and reaches many of Rome’s main sights. There are good restaurants and plenty going on nearby. We loved staying here and would return if we’re lucky enough to visit Rome again.

It’s not your usual hotel, but I’d definitely stay here again next time I’m in Rome. It’s really close to the Vatican, with plenty of shops and places to eat nearby.

Mario met us and was really helpful, with plenty of useful tips. We had everything we needed in the room, and it was only about a 10-minute walk to the Vatican, with shops, cafes, and restaurants right nearby. It was busy outside, but closing the shutters and windows kept the room quiet. Breakfast was a two-minute walk away, with three choices. I had pancakes with Nutella and fruit, so good. Thanks for making the stay great, Mario 👍
