Serendipity

The location is the one good thing, close to the stations. But after staying at Serendipity, I wouldn't choose any of the company's places, which seem to include at least Sun Moon, Serendipity and In Rome. The bathroom was disgusting, with mold on the shower head and inside the shower. It was so cramped I had to shower with the doors open to move. It felt like the cleaners only changed the sheets and towels and left. This place is a health hazard. I wouldn't recommend it, just pay more to stay somewhere else.

The air conditioning worked well, though it stopped if the window was open. The minibar needed a while to cool but was okay from day two. Still, we wouldn't stay again or recommend it, unless you're the backpacker hostel type. We spent five days there and the sheets were changed only once, after we insisted. Staff said they change them every four days. Housekeeping was poor, and the hotel was very hard to locate. It's 500 meters from Termini, but we spent half an hour wandering in circles. The old building is shared with six other hotels. Hotel Enrico is the only prominent sign, with no sign for Serendipity, and reception is in another wing. There was no Wi-Fi in the room, despite it being advertised, though staff said it worked well in the corridors and reception. We booked two rooms and saw other guests complain too. Management acted unaware each time. Breakfast was inadequate, just a croissant with coffee or juice, served by grumpy, morose staff rather than self-service. The seating is outside the building, up a flight of stairs, in the open air with no table service. Luckily it didn't rain.

The view from the room was amazing. The rooms themselves were average, staff were okay but seemed annoyed when we needed help, and breakfast was much worse than a local cafe.

There was moldy bread at breakfast. Security was awful too, with doors left open and rooms getting robbed. I definitely wouldn't recommend it.
