SM Vatican Relais

The owner made a point of introducing himself and was incredibly welcoming. The staff were just as helpful, going out of their way to look after us. We had a beautiful room with everything we needed, and the location was central to all the major cities. It was amazing value for money, and by far the best place we've stayed on this trip. We'd book here again when we're in Rome. Prati is a wonderful area, and the room was spacious and clean. Service was excellent and helpful, and breakfast was included with several options. Thank you, Matteo and staff!

The room was modern and quiet, with its own A/C, a mini fridge stocked daily, and streaming services on the TV. The huge memory foam bed was great, and I liked having pillows in several firmness levels to choose from. Breakfast was excellent, fully customizable, and delivered to the room whenever you wanted. On an early tour day when I had to leave before breakfast, they offered a discount. Another day, they even brought it extra early. After I messaged Matteo late one evening, worried that my light breakfast and lack of espresso would leave me low on energy for another early tour, he kindly added a double espresso for the next morning. Matteo and his staff were always reachable by phone. The service stood out throughout my stay. The front desk woman was warm and genuinely keen to help me get around or make the stay more comfortable. She suggested places to eat and things to see, though I already had plans. Staff greeted me each day, remembered small details, and checked in. They also let me leave my bag after checkout, and gave me access to a bathroom and a waiting area where I could relax and charge my phone before my train. I was almost overwhelmed by how thoughtful the service was. Vatican Realis and Matteo's team are top notch, and I'd call this the best accommodation in Rome. I've stayed in hostels, one to five star hotels, resorts, B&Bs, campsites, and boats, so choosing a place can feel like a gamble. This one didn't. I arrived by metro from Roma Termini with two quick connections to a station about a 12 minute walk away. Compared with the busy, rough area around the terminal, Vatican Realis BnB is in a much nicer, quieter district close to Vatican City, with more of a business and professional feel. You can walk around Rome from here, too. The care and comfort made it hard to leave. I already know this is where I'll stay when I return to Rome. An amazing city, people, and lodging. Five stars, and I can't recommend it enough.

The staff were lovely, friendly, and helpful, and breakfast was excellent. They also kindly accommodated a food allergy. We'd definitely recommend booking here for a visit to Rome.
