The staff were very friendly and helpful, and Spagna Ave’s location is fantastic, within walking distance of the Trevi fountain, cafes, nightlife, and lots of other places of interest. But the rooms need a makeover and maintenance. They smelled strongly of perfume, which seemed to be part of the cleaning process, and the shower drains were very slow. The elevator is old and needs proper maintenance or replacement. It closed on us while we were trying to get in and didn’t seem to sense someone entering, which felt dangerous.

The room was clean and a good size for a city trip, and the staff were very friendly. The location is fantastic, close to everything. But the walls don’t block sound. Our noisy neighbors slammed doors and jumped around to their music in the middle of the night. Every night between 2-4 o’clock we’d get a jump scare and hope they’d go to sleep soon.

The room was comfortable enough, with plenty of cupboard space, good lighting, basic amenities, and daily housekeeping with fresh towels. The room was spacious for two, and the bathroom was wide and clean. Staff were courteous, though after such a stressful arrival it was hard to be warm back. We barely saw anyone at reception during our 3N4D stay, but Constantine was a real help on the last day with our luggage and arranging a car to the airport. The arrival, unfortunately, overshadowed all that. We booked Spagna Ave and were told our room was in the “Annex,” a separate building about a 5-min. walk away. I was traveling with my senior mom, and we’d booked a car to avoid hauling heavy bags over Rome’s cobblestones. We ended up doing exactly that, across uneven roads and stairs, with no assistance. Later I found the annex listed under another name, Trevi Contemporary Suite, which made the booking feel misleading. Why list a different property under the same hotel or suite name? It felt like a lottery whether you’d get the main building or annex. Staff said the room matched the photos online, but using photos from another building, even a sister company, under the better-located ‘Spagna Ave’ listing doesn’t feel transparent. When we tried to clarify, they said they’d tried to contact me but didn’t have my WhatsApp. Why have Agoda app messaging if it isn’t used? Could it be because the actual hotel or suite was different from the listing? There were also a lot of steps just to get inside: unlock the main door with a key or code, take the elevator, then enter another code for the suite area. It felt unnecessarily tedious compared with the more straightforward Spagna Ave building. I wouldn’t call the stay terrible, but I wish I’d known exactly what I was booking instead of feeling blindsided and stressed. Clear information would have made a huge difference. If you’re thinking of booking, make sure you know which property you’ll actually get, even if the reservation says Spagna Ave. Clarify whether it’s the main building or annex, especially if you have heavy luggage, elderly companions, or mobility concerns.

You can enjoy Spagna Avenue with a slow evening stroll or just stop for a coffee, even if shopping isn’t on your mind. Near the Spanish Steps, it’s full of stylish boutiques, cozy cafés, and beautiful buildings. There’s a lively feel without being overwhelming, and the mix of luxury and classic Roman charm makes it a lovely spot for people-watching. Definitely worth visiting while in Rome.

The room and communal area were both nice, and there was coffee, tea, and water at reception. The service was lovely and welcoming. It’s a central, safe location near the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain, with shops, restaurants, and the metro close by.
