Marlon was the man. He answered all my annoying questions within a few minutes, no matter when I asked, and had great tips about food, drinks, and getting around. He even helped carry my wife's 700 kilo bag down the spiral stairs. Thanks again, Marlon! Getting to the room is an experience of its own. The plain green door is tucked inside a restaurant's outdoor seating area, then there's a long hallway with modern wall lights and a marble spiral staircase. The stairs are exhausting, but the climb to the 3rd floor is worth it. Up there are three rooms and a lobby with Marlon's desk. The room felt recently renovated, with wood floors, newspaper clippings, a modern sink and shower, and a huge window that opens onto the square below. The room was modern, chic, and edgy, with a floor to ceiling window that acts like a balcony. Swing open the shutters and you can look down at everyone below like royalty. And the location really is central. StarHome Novana is steps from Piazza Novana. Roma Termini is a 20-minute taxi ride away for €15, traffic permitting. You can walk to pretty much everything within 30 minutes: Colosseum and Roman Forum in 25, Trevi fountain in 11, Pantheon in 6, Vatican in 30, Jewish Ghetto in 15, Spanish Steps in 15, and Piazza Novana in no time. Rome cabs aren't expensive either, so you can always grab one. We had a blast and would definitely come back to Roma. You won't regret booking here. Andiamo!
