Terrazze Navona

The view was one of my favorite parts, and the apartment's central spot made it easy to get around. It was clean, organized, and welcoming, with a comfortable space and a cozy bed. The host was quick to reply and helpful whenever I had a question or needed something. Very accommodating, but never over the top. I had a really lovely stay and would happily come back. The service was very good.

The location is the one reason to consider this guest house. We weren't happy with the stay at all. The old building had plumbing and electrical problems, and the shower stall was so small there wasn't room to put shower gel. The furniture was old, the mattress was too soft and springy and gave me back pain, and there weren't proper outlets for charging. It wasn't comfortable or convenient.

Sitting on the terrace in the morning with espresso and church bells nearby was lovely. The views are picturesque, and the wooden furniture gives the place a quaint feel. The bed creaks, but it didn't bother me. As a solo traveler, I felt safe, and the location worked well for reaching major attractions. This isn't a standard hotel setup. It sits somewhere between an Airbnb and a limited-service hotel, though rooms are cleaned daily. To reach Terrazze Navona, you go through a plain building entrance with two code-locked doors, take an antique lift that fits perhaps one or two people with two suitcases, then enter another locked doorway into a small foyer. I stayed in deluxe Room 5. There seemed to be about five rooms there, though I think more are accessible through another entrance next door. Getting from the airport and then to the train station went smoothly. The street is small and one-way, but taxis came without delay. For an early arrival, you'll need nearby luggage storage. I had larger bags, so I used Deposito bagagli, a five-minute walk away, instead of the recommended option. The bathroom is small but functional. Vincenzo responded promptly, and I had no problems. This suits someone who values atmosphere, can manage the steps involved in arrival, and doesn't mind a less traditional hotel experience.

I was woken early, around 6-7 am, by loud conversations in the corridor. It felt more like staying at a relative's place than having a private, restful visit. That morning there was also a serious water leak, and we were asked to leave ahead of schedule. No compensation or proper solution was offered. The location is excellent, in a very nice area with an amazing view. The apartment is beautifully decorated, well equipped, and has an excellent bathroom. But we only learned after paying, one week before arrival, that this wasn't a hotel as advertised. It's a room in a shared apartment, which we hadn't expected. The furniture, floors, and bed creak, adding to the discomfort. It's a shame, because the place has potential. Clearer communication and better management could make a stay much more enjoyable.
