The Classic Roma

The location was amazing, right in the middle of everything and about two blocks from the metro. If you don't want to walk to a destination, you can take the subway. The hotel was clean and felt safe, and the front desk attendants were awesome. Most spoke four languages. We visited in June and had a great time, though ownership had changed between booking and arrival. We booked through a third party, which may explain why nobody told us. The hotel name wasn't on the building, and there are several hotels there, so we were disoriented until we found ours on the second floor. Our flight was early, so we wanted to leave our bags and explore. They offered a space in a hallway beside another room. We did leave them there, but if you worry about luggage being left out, you may want to make other plans.

We enjoyed our stay, but a few issues could be deal breakers for someone else. The hotel looks nice, and it's spacious, clean, and comfortable. However, the listed address was across the road from the actual hotel, which made check in confusing. It was very hot in Rome, and the air conditioning couldn't cool the room even on its lowest setting. We sweated through the night. The WiFi was weak in our room and often dropped out. There's only one lift, so sometimes you have to take the stairs. That was fine for us, but could be difficult for someone less mobile.

The staff were kind and very friendly, and they all speak English. Our clean room and bathroom were nice, and I loved the breakfast. I had muesli and yogurt, which you don't find at every hotel in Italy. The Classic Roma is right in the center, with everything within walking distance. Perfect location, and we'll definitely be back soon!

We had a wonderful, comfortable stay. The room was spacious, very clean, and had all the amenities we needed. Staff were friendly and answered all our questions. Barberini metro is a 5 minute walk away, and Fontana di Trevi is 10 minutes on foot. The hotel sits on a quiet side street near a busy area with lots of restaurants and bars, and taxis were easy to catch. Breakfast was limited and average in quality. The walls were thin, and one night I was woken by other guests outside. The building's front door was unlocked overnight, so it felt like anyone could walk in, though we didn't encounter anyone unpleasant. There was a locked door on our floor.
