The Major

The staff were so helpful and friendly, and even surprised us with a treat for our anniversary. The rooftop was a very cool place to spend time, though a bit pricey, and the team up there were good too. The food was delicious, and they even made the buffet look pretty. The hotel itself was quaint, lovely, very well done, and clean. It’s close to historic sites and lots of good restaurants. We walked to the colosseum, Trevi fountain, and the pantheon, though those walks may feel a bit long for some. There’s also a hop on/hop off stop right across the street. We really enjoyed our stay.

We slept really well in the cozy, nicely decorated room. It was a little small, but comfortable and clean, with soundproof windows, complimentary sweets, and sparkling water. Check-in was easy and the staff were helpful. The one downside was a faint bathroom smell, probably from the plumbing in an old building. We didn’t visit the rooftop bar or restaurant, though it looked lovely. The location is excellent, near the train station and many sights.

The room was excellent, clean, and comfortable, and the staff were friendly, courteous, and helpful throughout my three-night stay. The Major will be my choice when I return to Rome. It’s within walking distance of lots of main attractions and just a stone’s throw from Termini station, which makes it handy for taking the Metro farther afield.

The hotel’s design, atmosphere, and comfort really impressed me, and I’ve stayed in some beautiful places in Rome. The rooftop bar was magnificent, with a breathtaking view and a perfect ambience. I’m giving it four stars because the staff weren’t very smiley, which took away a little from the warm feel, and the location was good but not very close. Aside from that, everything was excellent, and I’d definitely recommend it.
