Vatican Comfort Suites

It's clean, modern, and really comfortable, with easy access to the center, the Vatican Museum, St. Peters, and more. Great value for money, and an amazing place with a marvelous host. I'd definitely recommend it and come back. Did I mention the host is amazing? Give it a try!

The location was great, but what we found felt like a case of expectation versus reality. We booked through a popular site, and the place we saw seemed very different from what was shown on Airbnb, as if those pictures were from years ago. Every wall was dirty, with black rubber marks from bags or something hitting them, and there was black mold in the shower and holes in the bedsheet. The shower in the neighboring room was separated by a paper-thin wall, so we heard the water rushing through the pipes very loudly. There was also a restaurant below us with live music. We could make out every word and even hear people clapping.

The rooms were great, but my last night in Italy turned into a disappointing and inconvenient experience. I picked this hotel hoping they'd make things easier. Instead, I would suggest somewhere nearer the Colosseum, where I stayed for seven nights. When I arrived at Vatican Comfort Suites on 25/3/19 at 1:30 pm, Tullo and his associate met me. I asked when the advertised airport transfer would leave, only to learn there wasn't one. They said I'd have to pay 50 euros to get to the airport. I showed them my booking, which said a free transfer was included. They realized it was their mistake and booked me an 8 am train ticket the next day to the bus terminal. I appreciate them trying to help, but when you hear "airport transfer," you don't expect to walk five minutes to a train station, then ten minutes to a bus stop, then ride a bus for 50 minutes. It felt like false advertising. They also gave me a breakfast voucher for Cafe Delle Commari across the road. I arrived at 6:50 am and said I had to leave at 7:15. A group of tourists came in ten minutes after me and were served coffee, juice, and breakfast before I even got my espresso. After 15 minutes, 15 customers who'd arrived later had all been served. I don't know if it was because I'm a Black man, but it was disappointing. I'm on the bus now, hungry and really disappointed with the way I was treated.

I loved my stay here! It was very comfortable and clean, right in the heart of the city, making it really convenient for the Vatican and the main sights.
