The area was okay, but the rooms face the road and the traffic is loud. This is a shared apartment with rooms, not suites, so privacy isn’t really an option. The hot water lasts only about three minutes, and getting in with the remote entry system was a real problem because it didn’t work properly. It’s on the second floor, with a very old vintage elevator that doesn’t always work.

For around £100/€110 for two nights, probably an off-season rate, this was excellent value for our weekend in Rome. The room was small, with about 4-5 beds, but worked well for a budget stay. The hotel was clean and the staff were welcoming. We had plenty of food options 2-4 minutes away on foot, and the metro from the train station was only about a 5-7 minute walk. There’s also a small pantry by the lobby where you can make coffee or toast, or keep things in the fridge. Mr. Ray, who wore spectacles, deserves a special mention. He went out of his way to help us feel comfortable, suggested things to do, helped when we’d forgotten our charger, and gave great service throughout. One complication is finding the place: it’s on the second floor of a building, not a standalone hotel. We had to ring buzzer 7 at the provided address to get the main door opened, and no one had mentioned that before we arrived.

The room is small, but the huge roof makes it feel quite spacious, and the bathrooms are really nice. We really enjoyed our stay. It’s in a great area that feels local and is away from a lot of the tourists. About the noise complaints, I’m not sure you’ll find a quiet spot in any Italian city. These are old buildings, and people are out enjoying life until early in the morning almost every day. That noise is part of Italy, so embrace it. It wasn’t that bad anyway.

There’s lots to do right around the hotel, and every attraction is about a 20 minute walk away. If you find a good deal and can live with the noise and a little mold in the shower, it could be perfect for you. It’s worth considering if you mainly want a well located room for a reasonable price, but there are some things to know. It’s a party area on a busy street, and it was noisy enough that even though I can usually sleep through anything, I needed ear plugs. The cleanliness and upkeep were lacking. It was okay overall, but there was grime in the corners, mold in the shower, furniture was broken, and the toilet didn’t work well. I’d also asked for a room overlooking the river, but there’s only one room that doesn’t have that view, and that’s the one we got. I contacted the hotel a number of times before arriving and never got a reply. Then the day before our arrival, I got a text saying that if we weren’t there to check in between 3-3:30, we’d have to wait a long time because they needed to check people in at another property. We had to rearrange our day around that 30 minute check-in window.

We could walk to everything from this historic building, and it was spotless. Rome's nightlife was right there too. Everything about our stay was perfect. I'd recommend it!
