With nice weather, you can walk to attractions from here. We went to the Colluseum and Vatican City, and the hotel is surrounded by restaurants, bars, and shops. Some places charge more because they’re near the fountain. The rooms are basic but clean, with a mini fridge and working TV. Breakfast was what you’d expect and enjoyable, with some great pastries. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. Sleep was difficult, though. The normal and recycling bins were collected between 1am and 5am, then the street sweepers came. The buildings are so close that all the noise bounced around and got SO loud. The air conditioning only reached a certain power, so we couldn’t cool the room and had to leave the window open. Seagulls squawked all night too. There was also a mysterious mosquito in the room that we couldn’t catch, and it went to town 😂

The only good thing this time was the great location. We’ve stayed many times and loved the hotel before, so it was sad to see how much the experience had changed in less than a year. I emailed when booking to request a front room because we liked the street bustle and it was my big birthday. When we opened the door, my heart sank. It was like a rabbit warren, very warm, filthy, and tired-looking. The tiny windows faced the yard, and the curtains didn’t cover them, so people could look straight in. The room had a broken hair dryer, a rusty bathroom radiator, and a disgusting drain smell, so we kept the bathroom door shut. There was thick dust under the bed. On our last day, thankfully, we spotted several large silverfish in the bathroom and room. The fridge was filthy too. There was no kettle, just a coffee machine with dirty cups and no instructions. A small mirror beside the bathroom mirror was so high you’d need a step ladder to reach it. I told reception about my room request, but the receptionist seemed more interested in checking in the people behind me than addressing it. She said she’d let me know, and I’m still waiting. I dreaded going back to the hotel, though I made the most of the holiday. Definitely not five-star. Even three would be pushing it, especially given the cleanliness.

The room was comfortable, and the staff were very helpful. It’s right by the Fontana di Trevi and easy to get to. The air conditioning didn’t work, though they did provide a small heater. I’d still recommend it.

The location was great, close to the Trevi Fountain, restaurants, and a metro station, though it got noisy late in the evening and early in the morning. Our room was grubby and dirty, with nothing luxurious about it. Breakfast is served from 7:30 to 10:30, but if you arrived after 9am there was hardly anything left. I had to ask them to heat the coffee every morning.

We stayed in Leonardo 3 with my husband and our eight-month-old son, and the room was clean, tidy, and presentable. Breakfast had lovely choices, and there were scrumptious restaurants and cafes nearby selling cannoli and other pastries and desserts. Most sights are walkable, and the Barberini Metro station is an eight-minute walk away, just a couple of stops from places like the Vatican. The receptionist was absolutely lovely, very friendly and incredibly helpful. Sorry we didn’t get your name, woman with dark hair and red glasses! We had a delightful stay and will definitely return on our next visit. We’ve highly recommended the hotel to friends and family. Thank you 💚🤍❤️
