The room was spotless each day, with the daily cleaning making it clear that the details matter here. And the bed was incredibly comfortable, one of the best we’ve slept in. Everything we wanted to see was within walking distance, which made getting around easy and the trip more fun. We’re a young couple looking for somewhere central that was still affordable, and this suited us perfectly. It was our first trip together, so we’ll always remember this place fondly. We’d love to return someday, perhaps with family or even future children. We’d absolutely stay again. 🤍

The staff were so friendly and helpful, and the cleaners came in every day to tidy up, which we hadn’t expected but really appreciated. We were four people in a quad room, and it was clean and had everything we needed nearby. There was also a coffee machine and fridge in the room, a nice little extra. Thanks for a lovely stay!

The building’s location was the one good part, with attractions and shops an easy walk away. But the room was nothing like the listing. I’d been drawn in by the Moorish-style building and photos of clean, bright rooms with a modern private bathroom. In reality, our double room was extremely dirty, badly maintained, and well below basic comfort and hygiene standards. The shower cubicle was filthy and directly opposite the bed, which didn’t feel like a private bathroom at all. We had to make our own adjustments to manage bathroom needs. The room’s placement wasn’t described in the listing either. It was behind a locked door off the main entrance hall, then beyond a private lobby opposite the laundry and cleaning room. The setup felt strange and unwelcoming, and could be intimidating for someone travelling alone. We stayed two nights and didn’t raise it right away because I wanted to avoid a confrontation and had very little time. When I did mention it at the end, the owner seemed dismissive and refused a refund, offering only a discount for a future stay, which I declined. They said they would have acted if I’d spoken sooner, but the room shouldn’t have been offered in that state. This was a horrible disappointment. Future guests should know the room doesn’t match its description, and I strongly suggest avoiding the property until it’s significantly improved.

Everything seemed fine until, a few hours after checkout, the owner messaged me about a toilet tap being dislocated. The WhatsApp photos they sent showed a tap that looked just as it had when I arrived. The room had also been cleaned during my stay, and nobody raised any complaint then. It makes me think earlier reviewers may be right that the owner tries to get extra money after guests leave. Be careful, and inspect the room as thoroughly as you would a long-term rental where you have to pay a deposit.
