Unicum Trastevere Suites

We could walk to pretty much anything we wanted to see in Rome. The room was far nicer than the listing photos made it look, recently renovated and practically brand new. Everything was very clean, and the host gave us helpful information and made check-in easy. There was even daily turn-down service, which we hadn’t expected. Beautiful unit, great location, and exceptional service.

We spent six nights at Unicum Trastevere Suites. The room was cozy, clean and nicely decorated, though a little small. Coffee at reception was a nice extra, and there’s a good breakfast café right next door. Staff were friendly, but all the messages felt a bit overwhelming, especially being asked for a 10-star review. The bed was extremely hard, and the shower pressure was very weak. It’s a pleasant place with a good atmosphere and location, though a bit far from the main historical sites.

Communication with the host was great. They kept in touch on WhatsApp from the time we booked, answered our questions quickly and sent recommendations for places to visit. We found some charming spots in Rome that were less touristy thanks to those tips. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and cozy, beyond what we expected. It’s right in the heart of lively Trastevere, surrounded by restaurants and cafés and that typical Roman atmosphere. The main sights were easy to reach on foot or with a short public transport ride. We’d gladly come back and highly recommend it.

I found a wonderful hotel in Rome’s historic center for the same price, and it took me five minutes to find it while I was standing outside this place after seeing what I’d booked. The price here didn’t match the accommodation or service at all. Trastevere has lovely streets, buildings, restaurants, bars and tourist spots, but somehow this place is on the one spot that feels like a ghetto when you squeeze out through the tiny apartment doors onto the street. A tiny reception table doesn’t make a 10-square-meter apartment a hotel, and neither do heavily photoshopped photos. Why not show the entrance? When I tried to explain that the place I thought I’d booked didn’t match reality and asked for my money back, the landlord refused to return my deposit and charged me the full accommodation amount. I never checked in. I moved somewhere else five minutes after seeing this “amazing” place. This is not a hotel, the advertised features don’t match reality, and the owner is a cheater. I wouldn’t recommend it if you don’t want your vacation in a city as amazing as Rome ruined. Thank you.
