Unique Guesthouse

The street wasn’t especially welcoming, which is what you might expect near a central station, but I felt safe. Our host was lovely, quick to respond and helpful. The guesthouse is across the road from termini station. We stayed one night and had a very good time. The common kitchen was large, and our room was clean, spacious and comfortable.

Breakfast had what we needed: croissants, toast, Nutella, jam, sometimes fresh local fruit, plus tea and coffee. The price seemed fair for the standard. Each room had AC, a TV, a bathroom and a comfortable bed. It’s very close to the train station, which makes it a good choice if Rome is one stop on your trip. You can also walk to the Colosseum.

The manager really was lovely, gracious and very helpful. The owner, though, was a real piece of work and tried to charge me all sorts of extra fees when I arrived. Don’t go. They’ll nickel and dime you until a hotel seems like better value than this rundown hostel in a bad neighborhood. Terrible experience. I’ve stayed in dozens of hostels and had never walked out on a reservation until this one.

The rooms were really nice and clean, and the host Guiliano was professional and available to answer our questions. The accommodation was good quality, with a very good location near the train station and a lovely kitchen. I had a good breakfast with my three sons. I recommend it.
