We had a great stay, with plenty of restaurants nearby and a good gelato place just a short block or so away. The Vatican Museums were about a 10-minute walk, and we also walked to St. Peter’s. Another day we went all the way to the Colosseum and Trevi Fountain and back, probably walking more than we should have. Antonello gave us helpful tips about the area, getting around, places to eat, and things to do. He let us drop off our bags early on arrival day and leave them after checkout until we picked them up later. We arranged a time to meet, and staying in touch by WhatsApp worked well. The bed and room were comfortable, and everything was clean. The bathroom had what we needed, and there was a kettle for tea. The room had a TV and air conditioner, though we couldn’t find their remotes in the desk drawer at first. A quick message to Antonello sorted that out. Getting in was straightforward: press the small button labeled Vatican Charm on the silver call box outside, and someone lets you in and explains the keys. There’s one for the street door, one for the upstairs entrance, and a key card for the room. Breakfast was great, with several kinds of local pastries.

The room was spacious, modern, and beautifully set up. Little things made it easy to settle in, including plenty of closet hangers, an iron and board, great lighting, and a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was a treat, especially the hot croissants, along with other tasty choices and coffee made just how you like it. The location gets top marks too: it’s on a quiet side street, just around the corner from the Vatican, a bus stop, the Metro, and a great supermarket. The host was charming, kind, attentive, and full of useful information. As B&B owners ourselves, we found ourselves making notes for improvements as we went. We had to drag ourselves away. 10/10!

Antonello, the kind owner, gave us really helpful suggestions for places to visit, restaurants, and wine spots. The lovely rooms are in a renovated 19th-century building in central Rome, just a 5-10 minute walk from the Vatican. Thank you very much!

The hosts and staff were super friendly and went out of their way to give us great service. They also shared useful ideas for sightseeing and places to eat. The neighborhood is lovely and well placed for exploring Rome. Our room was simple but nice and clean. Breakfast was basic, with fresh pastries, yoghurt, cornflakes, coffee, and juice, but had all we needed to start the day. We had a wonderful stay at Vatican Charme!
