Vico Rooms and Terrace

Check-in was chaotic: after entering the codes for self check-in, I had to search for the key, which was on another floor. A kind cleaning lady, who worked for another B&B in the building, helped me, but the process felt unprofessional. The room itself was dirty and neglected, with dirty bedding, a filthy bathroom, and poor hygiene and maintenance. The so-called “terrace” was cluttered and filthy, with many broken items. The online photos barely match reality. There are also strict Italy/Rome rules around guest ID verification with in-person or live checks, and enforcement against keybox-style practices, so this felt like an attempt to get around them. Don't be fooled by the listing. If you expect the place to match the photos and meet basic cleanliness standards, book somewhere else.

Check-in was a problem too, since codes weren't sent early enough and we could have been left outside the gate. There was no one on site to help with concerns. The bathroom was a disaster: the shower didn't work, the plumbing had issues, it smelled, and there was mold around the shower and floor. The bedding was awful and uncomfortable, the bed slid around, and there was no proper duvet. Vico Rooms is a disgrace, pure false advertising. This place needs a deep clean. I'd never stay again, and it should probably be shut down.

I was left outside in the cold with my bags after my late-arriving flight, and Vico Rooms refused to find a way to let me in. They said they'd sent a check-in link, but I never received it, so they hadn't sent anything. I called and offered to send my documents and proof of payment, or meet them the next morning, but they insisted it was impossible to accommodate me. Eventually I had to call the B&B at the same location. They said they could accommodate me and meet me the next day, with no problem. Vico Rooms treated its customers unacceptably. I’ll make sure nobody I know stays with these unaccommodating, insensitive, and sneaky people.

The room was simple but modern, set in an old building, and made a good base for exploring the northern part of Rome. The elevator alone is worth a look. They cook eggs or omelets for you, and there's a cozy terrace to relax on. The shower was the best, with any color show you want.
