Villa Aurora Residence - Hostel

I spent a good year in Montesacro. It was quiet, easy to commute from, and I woke up each morning to birds and trees all around. The villa has a lovely garden, a rooftop terrace for doing laundry, and a beautiful view. Staff were friendly and supportive, and when problems came up, they were quick to help. With the owner, you need to communicate clearly, respectfully, and persistently. I leave with good memories. Thank you to the villa's staff!

Over my eight months there, no one made even a small effort to check whether I had a problem or needed anything. I came to avoid dealing with her more than I should have, because I feared her extreme lack of empathy. Her rude, distant, haughty, and stupid behavior kept surprising me. I think she's entirely unsuited to the job and to managing this residence. On a personal level, I honestly think she needs professional help with this problem in her personality. She has become by far the worst memory I'll take from my eight months in Italy. The residence does have positive aspects, but they are completely overshadowed by the person managing it and dealing with customers. For that reason alone, I can't recommend staying there.

I paid for two more weeks, but while I was away on a short trip, the host messaged to say I was being vacated. I had to argue and send her my original receipt and dates to prove I'd paid, and she barely acknowledged them. When I came back, almost everything had been thrown into my suitcases. She's terrible to communicate with and takes ages to reply. I felt she was trying to take advantage of me. Do NOT stay here.

I booked this place because it was close to my course, but my stay was unpleasant. The property itself wasn't the main issue. The owner was. I spent the winter there, and the radiators were at least two weeks late. The pans were worn out and never replaced despite several reminders. When summer came, I was charged an extra €50 for air conditioning, even though it was included in the advertised price. We were told beforehand and had no written agreement for that fee, and the fans we were left with were old or broken. The paid washing machine was never cleaned and kept leaving brown, dirty marks. The owner was absent and only responded to different requests over the phone. It might work for a few nights, but for a longer stay I strongly DO NOT RECOMMEND it.
