Vino e Oli Residence

We stayed here recently with our two kids, and having a kitchen was really nice for traveling as a family. The apartment was comfortable, clean, and in a convenient location, with very good AC in August. The Vatican is a five-minute walk away, and there are many bus stops within two blocks that can take you all over Rome. The nearby subway was under renovation during our stay, but the city ran frequent shuttle buses along the affected subway line, about every two minutes. You can tap and go, though if you want to transfer, you should get a ticket. A $1.50 ticket gives you 100 minutes of unlimited transfers, or there are 24, 48, and 72-hour passes.

Georgia and Asia at reception were so helpful with questions and local tips. The rooms are well appointed and the beds comfortable. There are stairs at the entrance and down to reception, which could be a challenge for visitors with mobility issues, though there's a small lift to save you from carrying bags up and down. The spot is fantastic, close to Vatican City, the Metro, and loads of restaurants and shops, plus supermarkets. It's outside central Rome but easy to get into town.

Everything in the suite was tidy and clean, and the laundry facilities were good. It's a great spot, with good food nearby, a five-minute walk to the metro, and around 15 minutes on foot to the Vatican and other tourist places. It was getting warm in our room, so Giorgia at reception offered us a fan and an AC unit, which came in very handy. Such a great stay, I'll absolutely be back next time I'm in Rome!

We had everything we needed for six nights as a family of four, including a hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge with a small freezer, coffee machine, kettle, and toaster. The family room is divided, and there are two TVs with Netflix, Prime, and YouTube. Prati is a lovely neighborhood, just a five-minute walk from the Vatican, with lots of shops, markets, restaurants, and bars. Market Trionfale is superb, with loads of Italian food and drink and no tourists. Don't be shy about asking for help, they love it. There's a very cheap wine stall, a lovely bakery, porchetta sandwiches, an olive stall, lots of meat, and stunning cheeses. The hotel staff were helpful and communicated easily on WhatsApp. I'd highly recommend it for a family.
