White Vatican

The rooms were smaller than a typical European stay, and the bed and pillows were so uncomfortable my back hurt. The bathroom was extremely cramped, with no counter space. The loose plaza lock made the door difficult to open, taking nearly a minute each time, and no one was available when I tried to get it fixed. I stayed three of the seven days, then tried to end the stay early for all those reasons. They wouldn't refund the unused days. I'd stay far away if you have the chance.

The location is good, but for what I paid the hotel was very run down. It wasn't even the exact building listed at the address. It's a converted apartment operating as a hotel, though I guess Rome has all sorts of places because of demand. I had a terrible bedbug attack and was left with scars all over my body. The bedspread may look fine, but be careful. In response to the host, we only spent one night and had to check out to get to the airport, so I couldn't report it then. Bedbug bites get worse over the following days. I still have scars and would advise others to be careful.

Getting to The White Vatican was a bit difficult. The staff were unfriendly, and the bedroom was dusty, with a look straight out of a 70s studio TV set. Warm water lasted only a few minutes before turning ice cold, making a proper shower difficult. The online pictures aren't to be trusted. For the price, it was a huge disappointment. I didn't take any pictures because it wasn't worth it.

We arrived late at night and found our keys at reception. They showed us to the room, which was a few buildings away and even better located. It was very clean and had everything we’d asked for. The receptionist was cheerful and kind, and the location gets a 10/10 from me. With the price, especially the winter discounts, I’d absolutely recommend it. Best Rome experience ever!
