Hotel Holiday

Bad.

The food choices aren't many and the portions aren't plentiful, but everything is excellent and carefully prepared. Reception were great, always friendly and available when we needed something. The family-run hotel is in its main building, which is currently being renovated. The new rooms are welcoming and spotless; the older-style rooms are still decent and acceptable for the price. The annex rooms and bathrooms are older too, but clean and fine for staying with family or friends. Recommended especially for families with small children.

Our room had clearly not been cleaned for who knows how long. There was hair and fur, dried pigeon droppings on the balcony and chairs, and dust everywhere, so it was hard to find a clean spot. We reported it and were promised another cleaning, but when we came back the room was in exactly the same state. The only redeeming thing was the location, about a minute from the sea. Breakfast was poor, with stale food, and the pastries looked like they'd been sitting there for days. We stayed one night with our family. The welcome had been fairly decent, but this turned into the worst hotel experience of my life.

The bathroom needs renovation, and a persistent sewer smell reached the room. Cleanliness was not always great, and at 7:00 PM it wasn't possible to shower because the water wasn't running. Those issues were the room's only real flaw; if they were fixed, the stay would be truly exceptional. The hotel is in a good location, with friendly, welcoming staff and excellent services, especially access to the hotel's reserved beach umbrellas. Good value for money.
