Relais Poggio Borgoni

We were sorry the restaurant wasn’t open for the season yet, so we’ll HAVE to come back! My husband and I spent 5 nights here in March, and we were so impressed by the service, our stay, and the views. The rooms were beautiful, spacious, and comfortable. Claudia helped with breakfast every morning, kindly setting up a patio table and making our coffees. The staff also gave us plates and silverware for snacks we’d brought back. Breakfast had lots of choices, including fresh pastries, fruit, and eggs. The location is central and convenient for day trips to Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, and nearby towns. San Casciano in Val di Pesa is lovely too, with a grocery store, gelato, restaurants, and everything else you need. We really hope to return someday.

We’re lucky to have a restaurant like this near home. The food is ottimo, and the estate’s "Borromeo" Chianti Classico riserva 2021 is a delicious, very well-made powerhouse. Everything felt tasteful and up to standard, from the service to the beautifully laid-out ristorante. Next time we’ll come when it’s a little warmer and dine outside to enjoy the lovely valley views. We’ve already booked a "pranzo" for the 30th of may, along with a tasting of the estate wines, to enjoy with family coming from NL and the USA. This was, and will be, the ultimate Italian dining experience!

A small, dreamy, romantic escape that feels like stepping into a movie, with a hillside view you can’t get enough of. Check-in was easy, the rooms were spacious, and we wished we’d booked more than 2 nights. Barbara put together amazing breakfast buffets, and the on-site restaurant is fabulous. We’d recommend staying here. You won’t regret it.

The pool and the views were the highlights for me, and the whole hotel felt clean, peaceful, and pleasantly small. It’s a little out of the way, though getting to Florence or a nearby town is easy enough. The Osteria served a tasty meal too. The room could use a few basics like glasses, cups, and a kettle. Also, the restaurant terrace is right outside, so there isn’t much privacy there. Recommended.
