Fattoria San Donato

I was here for my cousin's wedding, and we felt like familia. The service was impeccable, and they accommodated my allergy that night, which I really appreciated. The food, wine, and dogs all helped make the atmosphere amazing. ❤️

At Fattoria San Donato, the views across the Tuscan landscape are so wide and beautiful they almost don't seem real. The wine tasting was better than I expected, both for the quality and the generous pours. Everyone was warm, attentive, and welcoming, and the whole experience was unforgettable.

We held our welcome dinner for about 50 people at Fattoria San Donato before our destination wedding, and it was magical. For months I worked with Riccardo, who was an absolute pleasure, and the whole San Donato family made us feel at home right away. Angelica and her mother welcomed us as soon as we arrived. There was so much delicious food: wine, cheese, bread, and farm-to-table dishes, especially their incredible faro salad. We also had their sausages cooked in their own wine and pici with tomato sauce. By the time the traditional Florentine steak came out, we were nearly full, but they were happy to cook it more than usual for our American guests who weren't used to the traditional preparation. The food, wine, and olive oil were all outstanding. We ordered a case of wine and a bottle of olive oil, and have loved them since getting home. The property is beautiful and quaint, with lovely views of the Italian landscape, vineyards, and flowers. They showed us places around the vineyard and grounds where we could take photos, among the blooming wisteria, irises, greenery, and rustic buildings. They also surprised us by putting flowers from the property on the tables, such a kind touch. The night before dinner, we booked the truffle hunt and meal. It was such fun to enjoy what we'd found over dinner, with traditional cheeses and cured meats followed by truffle pasta topped with fresh shavings. Unreal! The family couldn't have been kinder, and we felt like we belonged there from the start. I highly recommend visiting any way you can. We're hoping to come back for our anniversary and stay on the property this time. Thank you so much to Riccardo, Angelica, and everyone at the family winery. Our wedding weekend wouldn't have been the same without you!

We're visiting the area from Canada and booked this tasting because our nearby host recommended it. I've never had a better wine tasting. The hosts were wonderful, the wine was great, and the snacks were fantastic, mostly made right there. Such good value. If we're back in the area, we'll definitely return.
