We had a rental car, so getting to the places on our itinerary was easy, and Paola and Roberto gave us helpful suggestions for where to go and eat in San Gimignano. The town itself felt like a dream, especially in the evening when you could wander around with the streets to yourself. We arrived in late March 2025 for a 5 days stay and only then learned we were the first guests of the 2025 season. Paola and Roberto welcomed us warmly from the start and made us feel like family. Our room was a dream, very comfortable, and had a spectacular view of San Gimignano. The facilities are carefully maintained in this historic 12th century building, and breakfast each morning made us feel like royalty, with that same beautiful view. When we return to San Gimignano, Locanda Viani will be our first choice. We recommend it 💯%.

The part of the building where we stayed is almost 1000 years old, and we were very comfortable there. San Gimignano is easily reached on foot. We spent four nights and enjoyed the lovely breakfast and comfortable bed. Roberto and Paola are great hosts, and I’d highly recommend staying here.

We had a spacious room and a good-sized bathroom and shower. Breakfast was different every morning, which gave us more variety than a standard hotel usually offers. The location is quiet and private, about a 10 minute walk from San Gimignano. The owners are kind and helpful with advice on where to go, and the views of San Gimignano are beautiful.

From the terrace rooms there’s an excellent view, and the location is ideal, about a 10 minutes walk from the center of san gimignano. There are some uphill and downhill stretches, so keep that in mind if you’re not keen on walking. A hotel and place worth suggesting :)

The Viani's are such lovely people, and the place is impeccably clean and cared for. The location is to die for. You leave feeling like you’ve been sent off with a warm hug and a pat on the back, already knowing you’ll be back soon.
