The place looked a little uninviting when we first arrived from out of town, and there was nobody around when we went inside. The owner soon made us feel welcome, bringing an appetizer and choosing orecchiette with turnip greens for us. He also let us try the olive oil and caciocavallo cheese. We enjoyed everything, and the place was spotless. The owners' kindness made the visit worth five stars.

The rooms are dated and very basic, with old furniture and individual issues in each one. Lunch comes without a menu, so you get whatever they decide to serve, and breakfast is just a coffee at the counter. I can't say the place made me eager to return. The owners are kind and do try to help: ask for something and they'll do what they can.

The rooms are quiet, and I've settled in more than I expected. I'm here for work and was doubtful at first, but a few days changed my mind. It's a farmhouse, not a five-star hotel, and the owner is friendly, kind, and easy to talk to. They make us what we want for lunch and dinner, so after 20 days I'm sure I've put on weight.

The worst part was breakfast: some individually wrapped cakes had little flies inside the plastic, and I have no idea how they got there. Dinner was uneven, with vegetables preserved in oil to start, an acceptable first course, and a poor main course. I also noticed quite a few little flies in the wine, though unfortunately I'd already finished mine. The beds took me back to the old days of military service. Avoid.
