The grounds and pool looked like they could make for a great stay, but the service and upkeep let the place down badly. The pool was green, with algae on the walls, the floors on the way to the rooms were dirty, and there were spiders in our room. Breakfast was disappointing too, and there wasn't even orange juice. It's presented on Booking.com as a hotel or resort, but it felt more like staying in a room at the owner's home. There was no reception, restaurant, bar, or service, and the wellness and spa facilities were closed. We couldn't get a coffee in the afternoon, and nobody was available to bring a drink to the pool. It seems more like an event venue for weddings. The facilities have real potential, especially the amazing pool and gardens, but this stay fell short in so many ways.

The Foyer at the beautiful Villa Ravenna is well worth a visit. The dishes were high quality, never dull, and put together with lovely combinations. The freshest fish stood out, along with the chef's skill. Everything was presented beautifully, and the place was clean. Service was attentive without getting in the way. If you're after an elegant setting and an upscale meal, I'd definitely recommend it.

Raffaele, the manager, made us feel so looked after all through the holiday, and he's a wonderful person. Angelica brought us a generous, tasty breakfast every morning, the chef's cooking was divine, and Claudio deserves a special mention as host. Villa Ravenna itself is beautiful, almost like a castle. We were really pleasantly surprised.

The huge pool was a lovely place to cool off, with the old trees around it giving plenty of shade from the hot sun. The villa sits in a park full of centuries-old trees, and the rooms are chic and very well cared for. We were impressed by the people too: Claudio is a great host, Raffaele always tries to make guests happy, and the dining room team is excellent. Angelica greets everyone at breakfast and is kind and helpful, and the chef is excellent. Thanks so much for the beauty and the warm welcome. I'd recommend this place to anyone. Simona and family
