The beach was a real highlight, especially with a baby: it’s broad and quiet, with fine red sand and clear, shallow water right nearby. Marina di Ragusa is only a few minutes away for restaurants, nightlife, and Sicilian street food, and Punta Secca is lovely too. Ragusa Iblea and Donnafugata Castle are both about a 20-minute drive. There are small shops within walking distance, bigger supermarkets five minutes away by car, and pizzerias close at hand. Try to catch the beach at sunset. We loved spending time on the apartment’s covered rooftop terrace, which has a barbecue and plenty of furniture, including deckchairs. In the hottest part of the day, those loungers made a handy little sun spot while we stayed in with the baby. The apartment itself was beautiful, new, and comfortable, with what we needed for cooking. Each morning the "Gelatilandia" van passed the house with granitas, brioches, and croissants, and coffee was provided too. The hosts also gave us invaluable tips.
