Evi A. Wallnöfer is a very welcoming hostess and friendly with her guests. We stayed for 14 days, and the whole house was clean and well furnished. The breakfast buffet was generous and thoughtfully prepared.

We had a recently renovated attic room with automated skylights, views from all of them, a huge bathroom, a comfortable bedroom overlooking the scenery, and a living room. There’s an indoor pool and a small spa with a sensory shower and sauna. The secluded garden has a wooden peninsula with a wonderful view. Breakfast was generous, with traditional Tyrolean products, homemade cakes, and jams. We could eat in the dining room looking out at the mountains or in the garden. The owner was very kind. Even though the small property was full, we still felt private and could easily use the common areas. This is a lovely Tyrolean-style B&B in quiet, picturesque Scena, overlooking the Merano basin and surrounded by mountains. We enjoyed the fresh air all week. The location is convenient, just minutes from Merano and close to several hiking routes. The price was incredibly reasonable, well below the South Tyrol average, especially for the week of August.

The price for what you get isn’t acceptable. The room was very old and not clean. Since dogs are allowed, the final cleaning should be more thorough. It was obvious that dogs who stayed before had used the sofa bed as a bed. I’d only recommend the pool with reservations. The non-slip mats were constantly underwater, which could encourage mold. The circulation pump never ran, which could also create a breeding ground for germs. Sauna use is only possible with a reservation.

We came on someone’s recommendation, and the guesthouse lived up to everything we’d hoped for. We spent seven relaxing days here and will remember them fondly for a long time. By the second day, we already felt at home, largely thanks to Evi and her warm, refreshing personality. The excellent location, pool, sauna, and generous breakfast buffet added to the experience too.
