Pangea Villa Rooms

The Val D'Orcia setting is beautiful, with hot springs, lovely oak woods and gorgeous scenery all around. We found the garden and pool really relaxing, and the house itself was clean, spacious and well located. The rooms were very comfortable too. Paola and Angelo were fantastic hosts. Breakfast was delicious, especially the homemade jams and cookies. We highly recommend staying here, you won’t regret it. Niccolò and Claudia

Monte Cucco Valley still feels fairly untouched by tourism. There are charming little hilltop villages, good inexpensive wines, lush countryside, and lovely trails and views for walking. Pangea Villa itself sits down in a basin at the end of a short dirt track, so it’s peaceful and remote with almost no traffic, while towns and shops are still only a short ride away. We were eight people, six adults and two children aged 8 and 11, and stayed for three weeks in August. The large grounds, about 500 by 500 metres, were beautifully kept. There’s a sports area with a football pitch, pétanque, badminton and basketball. The owners came early each morning to maintain the pool, which stayed at a lovely 30 degrees thanks to solar heating. They also picked vegetables from the garden during those visits, and once we even got black truffles. There are plenty of cooking herbs too, including thyme, rosemary, sage and mint. The four bedrooms each have an ensuite bathroom, new individual air-conditioning and quiet, efficient ceiling fans. There are also two AC units in the kitchen and living area, which we really appreciated in the August heat. The open-plan kitchen is functional and well equipped, with access to an optional outdoor dining space. The built-in wood barbecue was always stocked with wood, and there’s an outdoor gas burner as well. The TV is modern and connected to the internet, which ran at a reasonable 3-5 Mbps and supported Netflix and Amazon video. The owners, Paulo and Angelo, were friendly, caring and easy to reach throughout. We all had a memorable stay and couldn’t recommend Pangea Villa more highly.

A lovely family house for summer holidays, and the owners are great hosts.

The outdoor area is lovely, with a veranda overlooking the pool, a grill and a big grassy space where kids can play. Inside, the living room is roomy enough for a group, the kitchen has everything you need, and every bedroom has its own bathroom. It’s a wonderful place to relax, and the hosts were very helpful. I’d highly recommend it for a spring or summer trip with children.
