B&B Andromeda

The owners welcomed us with great kindness, even though we arrived three hours early. They gave us the keys, and we could use the whole apartment, including the kitchen, despite this being a simple B&B. Its position worked well both as a stop on our onward journey and as a base for seeing nearby places of interest, such as Scilla. It's a bit uphill, so getting around by car is best. Recommended.

We spent 7 days here and were very satisfied. The room was beautiful and spacious, with a large balcony, and the cleaning was thorough. The staff were friendly and happy to accommodate personal requests. It was also great to have a shared kitchen. If you want a quiet stay, this place is very peaceful, with no nighttime chaos. Thanks for everything.

I can't recommend the Andromeda Hotel after what happened on my last day. I stayed there from September 1st to 6th on my first trip to Italy, in Calabria. I don't drive, so I chose the cheapest hotel option and used buses and trains to keep the trip affordable. Most guests arrived in their own or rental cars, while I was the only one without a car. I realized only after checking in that the hotel was far from both the sea and the city. During the holiday I took the bus to the sea and back, and things had been going well. My bus was due to leave at 11:45 PM, and I wanted a taxi to the train station so I could pack and get ready to go. To my surprise, there are no taxis in Palmi, Calabria. I asked the hotel owner by text if he could find a car to take me there for a fee. He replied right away and said he could help personally, then asked a few leading questions about whether I was alone. I thought the transport was sorted, so I was glad to meet him at the hotel the next day. Instead, he told me, "If you want me to drive you tonight, then we need to help each other." When I asked what he meant, he said, "Let's have some fun now, and I'll take you tonight." By "have some fun," he meant going to his room. I said I didn't want to, but he kept insisting that he was alone too and that we should do it. I refused again. Then he asked me to think about how I would get to the station, which made me nervous and sent a chill down my spine. I told him I'd work out the best way to get there and write to him. No one was forcing me, of course, but he was making the ride seem like a favor in exchange for sex. The station was 5 km away, and I had no car. This treatment of guests is completely outrageous and unacceptable. He didn't ask if I was married, whether I liked him, or even if I wanted to have fun. He just left me with the choice of going along if I wanted a ride. 🙄😤

The rooms are new, clean, and well maintained, and there's secure parking too. The hospitality, kindness, and helpfulness of the hosts are hard to beat. Excellent!
