Cascina Meriame

Our first agriturismo exceeded our high expectations. The owners were very friendly and helpful, the food and wine were excellent, and the vineyard views from the terrace were lovely. It's a small-scale B&B at a winery, and a great choice if that's what you're after. Restaurants are a few kilometers away, with some of the closest ones even walkable.

Our three days here felt far too short. Breakfast was generous, healthy, and delicious, with fresh dishes made by the padrona di casa and her capable staff from local ingredients. Cascina Meriame sits among the lush vineyards of the Langhe of Barolo. Luisella and Gianpaolo personally welcome guests with real warmth, and the staff are pleasant and helpful. The rooms are clean and modern, with a natural lavender fragrance. The wine tasting was just as it should be. The owners explained the vintages, characteristics, and background of their wines. The grapes are all picked by hand, and the care shows. Their combination of advanced techniques and valued traditions was eye-opening. They helped us choose wines we liked without pushing the bottles they wanted to sell.

The view was amazing, and I'd recommend this place to anyone. It's close to Alba, too. I emailed to ask about availability and got a reply straight away, then I was there. The host was very welcoming and helped us book restaurants, and was available whenever we needed help. Everything was very clean, the beds were amazing, the air conditioning worked really well, and we could use the fridge in the room as well as the minibar. I'll be back.

The vineyard views are astonishing, and having a pool made it easy to cool off and unwind after exploring the area and visiting wineries. We stayed a couple of days and loved the atmosphere and how friendly the staff were. Paolo, who works among the vines and tends the grapes, gave the place a sincere, rural feel. I promised an honest review at checkout, so here it is: we’d happily come back, or see if we can order a few bottles from abroad.
