Elsa d'Ortigia - I TRE ARCHI

Our three-night reservation was cancelled around 4:30 a.m. on the morning we were due to check in, with no explanation. It left us scrambling to find somewhere else and completely stranded, even though the property was still available to book through Chase Travel. I've travelled for years and never had anything like this happen. I wouldn't recommend it. Update: the owners are trying to get us to remove this review. They say the business was not officially open when we booked, but other customers had posted a Google review about staying there roughly a week earlier, around May 1st, 2025. So either it was operating without proper legal permits or they are smoothing over a last-minute cancellation. Either way, I'd avoid this property.

They cancelled our booking at 0300 on the day we were due to arrive. The hotel gave us no notice, and nobody was there to meet us at the door when we turned up expecting to have a booking. Edit: I assume you didn't buy this property yesterday without notice. Our booking should have been cancelled well in advance, not at 3am on our arrival day. I won't remove this review because I think it reflects your business practices, and other customers should be warned.

I got the warmest welcome when I arrived, just as I've always found in Sicily, and the ice-cold bottle of aqua minerale in the fridge was a nice touch. The room was nicely presented and kept spotless every day. Prices were reasonable and great value for the location. If you're thinking of visiting Sicily, I'd thoroughly recommend a few days in Ortigia and a stay at Tre Arch b & b...

Carlo was a wonderful host, taking time to answer our questions and making sure our wishes were met. The room had nice facilities, and the location was ideal: right in the old town center, with a quiet private courtyard. A perfect place!
