Parking was easy, the host was kind, and the place was clean. Breakfast was good, too.

Comfortable and nicely located, a good option in Siracusa.

The archaeological site is right next door, and Ortigia is about two and a half kilometres away. Free public parking is convenient. The view over the site is spectacular, the air conditioning works well, and there was a minibar, though it was switched off when we arrived. The double window keeps out a reasonable amount of noise from the busy street below. Breakfast came with three homemade cakes that were decent, and not much else. The owner was friendly enough and offered tourist and practical advice, though we'd have liked more privacy at breakfast. Tap water didn't seem drinkable, but that's not the property's fault, and they had left us a bottle of mineral water. Pets are allowed for an extra charge. The arrival was a rough start: the place is on the fourth floor of a large, poorly maintained building, up several steps and served by an old elevator. The entrance is off an unremarkable side street. That's not really the owner's fault, and the B&B interior has been renovated fairly recently with some style. The room, called "Route 66," could have been nice, but it was very dusty, especially the filthy windowsill. The bathroom had a loud, exposed pump and macerator, which meant toilet paper had to go in a separate bin. We've encountered that elsewhere in Sicily, but it's still unpleasant. There was no bathroom window, the fan didn't work, and condensation and mold marked the back wall. Old limescale in the shower and on the outside of the enclosure was excessive. Getting into the shower meant stepping up onto a slippery ledge, and water splashes all over the tiles showed they hadn't been cleaned in a long time. In short, there were serious maintenance problems. For the price, the room's poor upkeep really hurt the experience. Be cautious about the Booking.com reviews: that's how we found the place, but we contacted the owner directly afterward and couldn't leave a review there, so those reviews turned out to be unreliable.
