There’s a small front yard where you can eat, which was a real plus. The room was clean, but felt a little claustrophobic since the glass door was its only window. It could get damp and smell unless that door stayed open. The location works well for walking to Ortigia and the archaeological park, and finding a spot on the nearby streets shouldn’t be too difficult. Inside, there was no wardrobe, cupboard, or really anywhere to unpack clothes. Shower gel or shampoo would be better than just a bar of soap, and glass cups would be nicer than plastic ones. With a little effort, this could be a solid four.

The hosts were happy to share local tips about places to eat and things to do in town and around the region. We got a warm welcome, and the modern en-suite rooms were clean with comfortable beds. Breakfast was very good. There was free street parking nearby, in view of our rooms, and the location was handy for both Siracusa and Ortigia.

The owner was really friendly and helpful, but we didn’t like the hotel. The rooms were very dark and had a strange smell.

Charming place, and the location is just right. It’s about a 10-minute walk to Ortigia and another 10 minutes to the Greek amphitheater.
