Hotel Vinci Sirmione

This was a terrible stay, the worst hotel of our time in northern Italy, despite it being a four-star property. We paid about 220 euros and got what felt like a 0-star room and service. Our first room was apparently the last one available, called the “G floor,” but it felt like a basement: dark, with no view, and a terrace facing the neighboring house that was overgrown with weeds and full of bugs. We couldn’t leave the door open for long. The staff showed no regret and simply said it was the last room and couldn’t be changed. Before that, a tourist bus blocked the parking entrance for over 10 minutes while about 5or6 people from a tour group slowly got off. The driver was rude. We smiled and asked politely to pass, but he impatiently refused and kept blocking us, then deliberately reversed as if to force us back. We had to drive off and circle around. We only gave a quick honk; it was the bus driver who was shouting. The hotel staff saw what happened and did nothing, apparently focused on serving the tour group. Nobody helped with our luggage, though someone was helping them. At the front desk we waited another 5 minutes while the previous guest made a leisurely phone call. The staff member, expressionless, told us to wait, then handled our check-in just as blankly. And now the hotel accuses us of honking nonstop and yelling at the driver. Where’s the proof, do you have footage? They also claim I posted a random Google review after a week. Google can confirm I posted it ages ago, and the hotel even got my last name wrong. For a comfortable family or friends’ vacation, I’d skip this place. They seem to care only about large tour groups that bring in more money.

My wife and our 2 daughters stayed at HOTEL VINCI SIRMIONE from 18/7/2025 - 21/7/2025. The day before leaving, we booked a boat trip through the reception staff manager. When we returned to our room, just before going out for dinner, we found the safe emptied of 2 watches, our wedding rings, and all our jewelry. We don’t know how or when it happened. We do know people can enter the hotel from the garage, parking lot, or fire stairs and walk to any room. The safe is a standard hotel model that anyone can open easily (YouTube), and the balcony door was broken and couldn’t be locked. The owners were very sad when we reported the theft and kept repeating, “we have insurence.” After we’d left, though, a lawyer’s letter arrived saying the hotel had no responsibility and couldn’t be held responsible for our loss. We tried to contact the owners to find some small compensation for our HUGE loss, but the heartfelt sympathy was quickly forgotten. When you replied, I can guarantee we felt more sorry than you did. We did exactly what you told us: I went to the police station in Desenzano that same evening, but it was closed. A policeman told me that unless it was murder we should return the next day and also use the police station in Sirmione. We asked you several times for help since the police weren’t helping us. As customers at HOTEL VINCI SIRMIONE, we found the behavior rude and unpleasant, unlike anything we’d experienced before. That’s why I’m writing this review. HOTEL VINCI SIRMIONE IS NOT SAFE. Sirmione is beautiful and has many lovely hotels. I’d choose any other one over Hotel Vinci Sirmione. WE WILL NEVER COME BACK TO HOTEL VINCI SIRMIONE.

The breakfast buffet had loads of great choices, and staff even came to take our order while we were in the pool. Everyone was welcoming and kind, and both the service and food were impeccable. I’d read a bad review of ground-floor rooms 001, 002, 003, but I disagree completely. We stayed in room 001, which was very large with a huge patio and really convenient for the pool and breakfast. Hotel Vinci gets 10/10 from us!

There’s parking, and breakfast was perfect. Our room was large, with a huge balcony looking out over the lake. The location is ideal, close to Sirmione’s old center.
