We arrived in the village after dark, but had a feeling we'd enjoy the morning. After a warm welcome and a good night's sleep in a room with everything we needed, we got up with the locals, went for a walk, and had coffee. We even heard some local gossip and got a sense of being part of a special community. Our wonderful host met us in the morning and checked that all was well. It was a special experience, and I'm already planning another village holiday so I can practise my Italian and enjoy Il Dolce Far Niente.

The fireplace was a problem for us. We couldn't get it going without filling the room with smoke, so this probably isn't the best place to stay in winter. Even so, we were really happy with our two nights at this lovely little inn, on the nicest street in charming Spello. The restaurant at the top of the hill is excellent.

Tau was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully set up, and the location was great. Monia was a dream of a host. We booked through Expedia and arrived on a layover flight, so we needed a late check-in. The virtual check-in was easy to follow, and Monia was extremely helpful. A lovely stay in Spello.
