Hotel Raffaello Venice

The rooms were dirty and smelled awful, and cigarette smoke seemed to be everywhere in the hotel. The staff were kind and helpful, but I still wouldn't stay here again or recommend it.

The first impression was great, but the problems showed up after check-in. The hallway smelled strongly of moss, and although the sheets were clean, the old room had a stale smell. The furniture was dated and cheap, the drapes were torn and looked very worn, and the bathroom had no vent so it stayed wet and mossy. The AC made a terrible noise, but that wasn't even the main issue. The manager switched it off after 1 in the morning and didn't turn it back on until 7 in the afternoon. When it finally came on, it didn't blow cold air, so it was useless. I asked for a refrigerator and got one, but it didn't work. A total disappointment. I won't go back.

The towels and bedding were clean, which was the one saving grace. The hotel itself is in very poor condition and needs renovation; otherwise I wouldn't stay there. The staff tried to help, but they seemed overwhelmed and there was no leadership.

The Twin Room felt quite cold, and the shower water wasn't hot, which was disappointing when I wanted to warm up. The toilet could use some attention. The hotel is easy to find and in a good location.
