On a cold, rainy day, this was a wonderful lunch. My partner had a plate of four local freshwater fish, each prepared differently and all delicious in its own distinct way. I had trout ravioli in a very light tomato sauce, delicate and subtle. This restaurant really knows how to cook local fish. Highly recommend.

Hotel Da Cesare made for a lovely stay in Stresa. It's very central, right behind the town hall, across from the public ferry and just a few minutes from Carrefour supermarket. Paolo & Barbara were kind, hardworking hosts. My ensuite room was basic but clean, and the TV and WiFi both worked. I stayed Friday night and expected party noise, but it was quiet after 23:00h. Breakfast is included and runs from 8:00-10:00h. Friendly, hardworking Paolo brings generous servings of baba cakes, coffee and juice to your table in the restaurant, with savory choices like ham and cheese on request. They also let me leave my luggage for a few hours after checkout. Very pleased with the Italian hospitality at Hotel Da Cesare. Grazie, tornero!

We had a very pleasant reception and stayed in a fairly ordinary older room. It was clean and comfortable, and fine for a short October visit, though don't expect luxury. We didn't try the restaurant.

Our first day in Italy started on a high note here. The pizza was really good, and the waiters were all so kind. Our Italian is pretty limited, but we still managed to communicate easily. A lovely restaurant to kick off the vacation!

The staff were really friendly, and the risotto was delicious. We also bought some LIMONCELLO because we liked it so much. The onion soup wasn't great, but that risotto more than made up for it. 😎
