Cohen Hostel

The hosts were some of the kindest, most welcoming people we’ve ever met. When I became ill, they arranged a doctor straight away, and they were quick, patient, and gracious with all our questions. Their advice was great too. The breakfast was lovely, especially the incredibly fresh, delicious fruit, and our kids loved every moment of the visit. We’ll always treasure our time at Cohen Smart House Taormina. Thank you, Cohen’s.x The apartment is superb, set in one of the most picturesque parts of Taormina, with beautiful views across Isola Bella bay from both the apartment and balcony. I’d highly recommend Cohen Smart House to anyone visiting Taormina.

I’ve traveled around the world and stayed in hundreds of hotels, and this was the only really bad experience I’ve had. When we arrived, the air conditioning in the master bedroom didn’t work, and the lock at the top of the large living room window was broken. We weren’t especially bothered about the window, and mainly wanted to let the host know and check that we weren’t using the air conditioning wrong. We messaged politely, but got aggressive, rude replies and a denial of the problems. After I sent a video showing the air conditioning wouldn’t turn on, the host still didn’t apologize for the earlier rudeness. The next day he continued harassing me on WhatsApp. I’ve never had an issue with any other accommodation I’ve booked around the world or in Italy. The staff and hosts have usually been friendly or at least normal. There are plenty of places nearby and elsewhere in Taormina, so I wouldn’t stay here again. Reading the other comments about the host makes it clear to me that he’s impolite, rude, and arrogant. Don’t let him ruin your trip.

The owners looked after our comfort throughout our stay, and the apartment was spotless when we checked in. It had all the appliances and amenities we needed. The place made our trip more peaceful and cozy, and we found it magical. One of Taormina’s most beautiful beaches is within walking distance. There’s also a public transport stop and the cable car nearby, and stairs that lead up to the city center. Restaurants of all kinds are right in front, from budget options to more sophisticated places. I highly recommend staying here for a trip or vacation. Greetings from Bulgaria! 💙

The location was perfect for local restaurants and beach access, and we enjoyed beautiful sunrises and sunsets from the balcony. Joanna, our host, was amazing and took care of everything we needed. The apartment was very clean and felt like home. It had a washing machine and dryer, kitchenette, fridge, cutlery and plates, beach towels, a warm shower, AC units, and five ways to make coffee. I can’t recommend it highly enough. We didn’t want to leave!
