The front desk person was nice, and the location was the one good thing about the place. Otherwise, it wasn’t comfortable. There’s no TV or mini fridge, the bathroom is very small, and the bed has what seemed like an old mattress. The AC also wasn’t cool enough in summer. There’s no parking on the premises. You can walk to parking, but it’s uphill. I definitely wouldn’t stay again.

The room was small but clean, and breakfast was sweet, as it is throughout Sicily. They’ll make your coffee the way you ask. For this price, I doubt you’ll find a place closer to the center. It worked very well for New Year’s Eve. The location is excellent, right at the entrance to the city center. The listing said parking was available with advance reservation, but it wasn’t. The owner later recommended Lumbi parking, which was a good idea. She didn’t mention the free bus that drops you right in front of the accommodation, though we found it ourselves, luckily.

After more than a month traveling around Europe, this was the best small family-run hotel we’d stayed at. The owners were friendly, and we felt well looked after. A train strike meant we couldn’t arrive on the day of our prepaid reservation, so we stayed two nights instead of the three we’d planned. We hadn’t even asked for a refund, but the owners offered us a free extra night because we missed the first one. We couldn’t accept, since we already had a booking for the following night, but gladly would have otherwise.

We arrived late in the evening on September 18 with a confirmed reservation through Hotels.com, but the woman at the door told us there were no rooms. She didn’t speak English, and when we showed her the confirmation on my phone, she said, “I don’t care where you booked from, we don’t have a room,” then shut the door in our faces. We had to find somewhere else to stay that night. The next day we asked for a refund, but the hotel refused, even though our reservation hadn’t been honored. Thinking it might have been a misunderstanding, we went back later with a printed copy. We got the same dismissive response and the door shut in our faces again. Overbooking can happen, but refusing to refund a service that wasn’t provided is wrong. This was an unacceptable way to treat customers. We’ll never return, and I’d caution others against staying here. There are cameras at the property that could confirm what happened, but they still refuse our refund request. This version keeps a respectful tone but clearly conveys the frustration and issues you experienced.
