Salina Hotel

I stayed here for almost a month. The staff were very rude, and when I paid for a few extra days, they refused to refund the money even though I gave them 24 hours’ notice. I’ll never come back. Tourists should stay at a nearby hotel instead. If you don’t want to be scammed, don’t even consider this place.

A bit far from the city center, so you need a car if you want to head out for local food in the evening. Even so, I really liked Salina Hotel in Taranto. It’s a beautiful, modern, very clean place, with quiet, well-kept modern rooms that are great for a good rest. The reception staff are kind and helpful. A great experience, and I’d recommend it.

The service made our stay especially memorable. Mimo was attentive, kind, and genuinely caring, and went out of the way to make things delightful. Andréa at reception was fantastic too, bringing great energy and helping with every question. The spa team were friendly and lovely, and the massages and facilities were top quality. The hotel’s location is stunning as well. We’d wholeheartedly recommend it.

The hotel is comfortable, with modern, pleasant décor, and is outside the center of Taranto. That worked well for us as a base to explore the region, without having to cross the city on each trip; the roads make it easy to get around Puglia and reach central Taranto quickly. Guest parking is enclosed and secure, and there are two gas stations within 150 meters. There are several dining rooms. We only ate in the ground-floor one, where breakfast is served, with an adjoining terrace for lunch outdoors. Breakfast was a lovely surprise, with all sorts of sweet and savory options. The food was impeccable and nicely presented at a reasonable price, and the staff were attentive and discreet. The hotel also has a gym, spa, and rooftop pool with a bar. Our room was spacious, well equipped, and decorated in keeping with the hotel. The bathroom was well laid out, with a large walk-in shower and ideal lighting around the mirror for ladies doing their makeup, which we appreciated. Towels and bath sheets were changed daily, and the A/C was quiet and efficient. The minibar was a bit underpowered, though that didn’t bother us. If you like high-tech gadgets, the TV is built into the mirror opposite the bed, and a smartphone app lets you watch videos and more. We were visiting this beautiful part of Italy as a couple and stayed for 10 days. The staff were faultless throughout, quick to help, welcoming, and pleasant, and the hotel completely met our expectations.
