The elevator is a bit of a hassle with luggage, since it starts on the first floor and stops between floors, leaving quite a few stairs to manage. Parking is arranged at a lot 1 km away, though in quieter periods you may find paid spaces on nearby streets for €1 per hour. The hotel itself is small, new, stylishly decorated, and spotless, with lots of attention to detail. It's right by a pedestrian street, surrounded by shops, restaurants, and bars. The rooms are spacious and naturally bright, with plenty of other lights and sockets. We arrived during a very cold spell, but the air conditioning heated the room quickly and quietly. The staff were kind and helpful, the WiFi worked well, and there was water in the room and complimentary good-quality coffee. Breakfast comes as a €5-per-person voucher for the pastry shop next door, where the food is tasty and reasonably priced.

I've never seen anywhere so clean, and the hotel was fabulous. Frederico, who runs the place, communicated brilliantly and helped us with anything we needed. A real gentleman. I couldn't recommend this place more if you're visiting Taranto.

Our stay at Socla was very good value for money, and it made a wonderful base for exploring Tarato and the local area. The host went above and beyond to make our holiday better. He advised us on day trips to Lecce, Bari, and unforgettable Matera, then sent bus and rail links via what s app. He also booked our taxis to and from the bus and train station, and recommended Canneto beach, a beautiful local private beach 15km away, where he arranged our sunbeds.

Soclá is on a lovely pedestrian street where cars aren't allowed. There are five restaurants right below the window, and small balconies at both the front and back let in a great cross breeze.

The host was incredibly kind, helpful, and quick to answer our questions whenever we needed something. I had a wonderful stay at this excellent, very clean boutique hotel. I highly recommend it!
