U'Panare

We needed to be near the university, so the location worked well for us. The B&B was beautiful and clean, with spacious rooms, a new bathroom, and everything well maintained. The staff were so kind and welcoming, and we really appreciated breakfast too. There are stairs, though they were manageable. Just be careful in high heels. Highly recommended!

We stayed a few days with family and friends, and breakfast was a highlight. Each day we got to try local treats, from croissants and pucce to fruit and dairy products. The rooms were wonderful, the welcome excellent, and everything was very clean. The property is right in the everyday life of the historic center, with all its sounds and smells. It's a great base for seeing the new and old towns, MarTa museum, Aragonese castle, port, and fish market. Highly recommended!

From here, you can stroll down Via Duomo to the cathedral one way and the columns the other, with views over both seas and the old streets and houses still showing their historic architecture. The B&B sits in the heart of Taranto Vecchia and is close to the new city. Glenda and Edilio have filled it with tastefully chosen details that bring back memories of Italy in the 1950s and 1960s. They were both very kind, and the breakfast was extraordinary, with a lovely Apulian touch. I recommend the walk by the sea and crossing the drawbridge, where you can enjoy the small sea on one side and the Gulf of Taranto on the other. Glenda and Edilio can also suggest typical local restaurants and trattorias. Taranto has so much potential, so don't always head abroad. Visit Italy, visit Taranto!

The owners are two young people who clearly have high hopes for the future of Taranto Vecchia and put care into making their B&B feel welcoming and homelike. You can spot their place while walking along the main street: a little "panaro" hangs from a balcony and lights up at night, making you curious about what's inside. The rooms are large, spotless, and equipped with every comfort. The furnishings are vintage, minimal, and still sophisticated. In the morning they pamper you with a delicious breakfast, sweet and savory, all made with top-quality products. If you're coming to Taranto, you really should spend at least one night with them ☺️
